FAQs

  • You will need an Initial 1:1 session which takes an hour to go through a thorough assessment of your current condition, set up a plan and introduce you to the fundamental movements. You will then follow up with 2-4 1:1 sessions to develop a tailored program and get you confident and comfortable with your program before proceeding to classes. You then have the option to proceed with 1:1 if this is what you prefer or you can move to a group class.

  • There are a maximum of four people in a class. Class sizes are small so we can ensure you get the attention to detail you require. Each participant is working on their own individual printed program tailored to their condition and rehab requirements.

  • Yes, the initial assessment is more than just introducing you to the fundamentals. We will assess your condition and skill level which will help us tailor a plan and program to get you the results you are looking for. If you have pilates experience then usually we are able to get through some of the basics faster which leaves more time for expanding your repertoire and building your program so you can join a class sooner.

  • If you are receiving a 1:1 session you can claim private health, unfortunately group sessions can not yet be claimed under osteopathy.

  • Consistency is the key. 1-2 sessions a week is ideal, if you can commit to once a week and be consistent you will see results sooner. If twice a week is achievable with your circumstances then that's a bonus but as long as you are consistent you will benefit. You can also continue your program at the RACV or other gyms where you have access to the reformers to get additional benefits.

  • Pilates is a lifestyle and a form of management to keep your body functioning pain free and get you back to doing the things you love. You will start to notice results within 6-8 weeks. After 2-3 months of consistent sessions you will see the benefit and most likely be hooked. Most people love the way they feel when keeping up with pilates so choose to continue. However some people find that 3-4 months of focus is enough to build up their core and conditioning and get them back to other forms of movement to maintain their conditioning. This is something that is Individual and can be discussed with your practitioner.

  • Something comfortable that you can move easily in which does not restrict you. Generally whatever you wear to the gym or exercise in. No Jeans.
Wear socks for hygiene reasons, grippy socks are preferred to make it more comfortable and safer for you, however we have grippy mats that can be used if you don't have grippy socks.
Bring a water bottle and your private health card if you are receiving a 1:1 session.

  • At Sequence Clinical Pilates your instructor is a registered  Osteopath who will tailor your program to any condition or injury you may suffer. Sessions are usually 1:1 or small groups where you are working on your own individual program based on your needs rather than a generic class. Due to small classes (no more than 4 people) we are able to spend more 1:1 time with you, keep an eye on your form and give you corrections where needed to ensure you are working safely and effectively to ensure you feel better and stronger after the session and avoid further injury or aggravation.
Clinical pilates uses more than just the reformer. It incorporates the Cadillac (or Trapeeze Table), spring walls, ladder barrel, and Wunda Chair as well as the reformer to ensure the most precise choice of exercise and add more variety.
